Monty Python's Spamalot is a stage musical with book and lyrics by Eric Idle and music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, adapted from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It premiered at the Shubert Theatre in Chicago in December 2004, opened on Broadway in March 2005, won the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical and the cast album won the 2006 Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. The original Broadway run played over 1,500 performances and the show has since had multiple West End, international and touring productions.
