Sarah Levecque, a Maine native singer songwriter, guitarist. She now resides outside of Boston Massachusetts with partner/guitar player Peter Zarkadas. Classical piano training took some unexpected turns that led her to the strong influences of Blues players like Johnny Lee Hooker and Little Walter. Growing up Rock and Roll, Folk and Roots Country had always been a staple in her household that also contributed to her writing style . Her music lives where Rock, Blues, Country and Folk find common ground.
Sarah has been fine tuning her music in all sorts of clubs from Cambridge to Northampton, points north and south and everywhere in between. She first started performing as a guitarist in local blues bands in down and out “scary” biker bars. You can hear how these sort of venues later influenced her first collection of original material. Eventually, the unavoidable had to happen. Singing. Soon after being comfortable enough to sing a couple blues tunes, the writing just came natural.
Songs Like her title track “Crooked With Me”, the title song of Sarah’s 2008 release evokes complicated romance in whiskey stained barrooms.
Sarah is now sharing stages with artist such as Tommy Malone of the Subdudes, Eilen Jewell and Carolyn Wonderland. Sarah continues to charm audiences with her engaging, plainspoken way. She is now hard at work and finishing up her second CD for a 2013 release. There will be new sounds and influences to come.
