Chimes of Freedom

Opening September 12, Chimes of Freedom: Patriotism, Protest, and the Power of Song explores how music has shaped social awareness and inspired change throughout American history.

Featuring artifacts and songs from artists including Woody Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, the Dropkick Murphys, Janis Ian, John Denver, Richie Havens, and more, the exhibit traces music’s role as a force for education, expression, unity, and action across generations.

Curated by the Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame in partnership with the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music, Chimes of Freedom celebrates the revolutionary spirit of the past while shining a light on music’s continued impact on today’s movements
