The Point of View Book Discussion Group: James
Boston Public Library Presents
About
We are a book group for adults that reads a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction. We meet the 3rd* Wednesday of every month at 2:30 p.m. at the Central Library in Copley Square and on Zoom.
Our choice for September is James by Percival Everett.
Fiction. In this critically acclaimed retelling of Mark Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, readers get the viewpoint of Jim, an enslaved man in danger of being sold who escapes with young Huck on a raft down the Mississippi River while longing for his enslaved wife and child.
AVAILABILITY: Copies will be available for pick up at the Central Library Borrower Services desk after the previous month's discussion, until they are gone, or you may place holds on other copies or formats via the library catalog.
REGISTRATION: Please fill out this form to subscribe to the email list at least one week prior to the discussion date.
If you have any questions, please email Erika at [email protected].
Accessibility Notice: We strive to make our events accessible. To request a disability accommodation and/or language services, please contact the department listed in the upper right "contact info" field. Please allow at least two weeks to arrange accommodation.
