Emerson Colonial Theatre is a historic, 1,700-seat venue that opened in 1900 and is regarded as Boston’s oldest continuously operated theatre. Long known for pre-Broadway tryouts and touring productions, it reopened under ATG management in 2018, launching with the pre-Broadway premiere of Moulin Rouge! and continuing a mix of musicals, concerts, and special events. Set across from Boston Common in the Theater District, the gilded, period-detailed house offers a classic Broadway-style experience steps from restaurants and other venues.
