The Honan-Allston Branch of the Boston Public Library is a modern neighborhood library in Lower Allston that opened on June 16, 2001 and was renamed in 2003 to honor the late City Councilor Brian Honan. It hosts talks, exhibits, and community events, anchored by the large Rita M. DiGesse Community Room with a baby grand piano and an art gallery. Situated on North Harvard Street near Western Avenue and Harvard’s Allston campus, it serves as a walkable community hub for Allston-Brighton residents.

MBTA bus routes 66 and 86 stop at North Harvard St & Western Ave; route 70 runs on Western Ave at the same intersection. These routes connect to the Red Line at Harvard Station.
