Idle Hands Craft Ales is a brewery and taproom at 89 Commercial St. in Malden that opened in July 2016 after relocating from Everett, pouring German-style lagers, Belgian-inspired ales, and hazy IPAs in a casual beer-hall space with a patio. It has grown into a community hub with a busy events calendar and, since 2025, hosts Cafe Reynard as a daytime coffee program inside the taproom. Recognized as Boston Magazine’s 2020 Best Brewery, it sits a short walk from Malden Center’s restaurants and transit.

Overflow parking is available one block away at Callahan Park (the lot across from Pisa Pizza) near the intersection of Charles Street and Pearl Street.

Approximately a 4-minute walk from Malden Center (MBTA Orange Line and Haverhill Commuter Rail); about 20 minutes from downtown Boston and 10 minutes from North Station.
